We operate two community food banks, one in NE Salem and one in SE Salem.  Both locations operate from Tuesday thru Thursday, weekly, starting at 1 p.m., if food is available.  Thanks to Marion-Polk Food Share and their donors for their support.

Background and Eligibility

We have been a provider of emergency food boxes since our establishment in 1988, in partnership with the Marion-Polk Food Share.

We know everyone struggles in different ways, and if you feel you require assistance in meeting yours or your family’s food needs, please come to either of our community food banks.

There are no eligibility requirements to receive a food box, other than your stated need, but we do ask your cooperation in completing an (optional) intake form.  This data helps us tell our supporters about the needs of the community, to ensure this resource continues to exist and is expanded.  We do not share personal client data with anyone.

Our food bank depends on donations, and as such, there is never enough food to meet one-hundred percent of the need.  We appreciate your understanding as there will be times when we will be unable to help everyone, because the need is such that we will be out of food or running very low on the first day of the week.  Increased donations to Mano a Mano and to the Marion-Polk Food Share help to ensure this happens as few times as possible.

If we are unable to provide you with a food box, we will give you information about other resources available.
